About AmberMap (ready-to-use description)

Short (1 sentence):

AmberMap is a forecast that uses live weather and a physics-based model to predict when and where amber washes ashore on the Baltic — up to 10 days ahead (today's forecast is free; the full horizon comes with Premium).

Longer (paragraph):

AmberMap runs live weather data (wind, waves) through a physics-based model to estimate the chance of amber for more than 50 stretches of the Polish and German Baltic coast. The forecast is available in English, German and Polish, free, with the full 10-day horizon in Premium. Forecasts refresh every 3 hours.

Facts you can cite

  • Coverage: 53 coastal stretches — 20 in Poland and 33 in Germany.
  • Three languages: English, German, Polish.
  • Forecast horizon: up to 10 days; updated every 3 hours.
  • Season: amber washes up mainly after autumn and winter storms with onshore wind; it's scarcest in the calm summer. More in our guides.
